The crown of India, Hub of spirituality Heaven on earth, Refuge of Saints, sagas, Hermits, Fakirs, and all Mystics, The land of Kashmir known as Satisar, land of sati (Parvati). Reclaimed by great “Rishi Kashyap” and named after him as Kashmir, has produced galaxy of saints equal to PARA SHIVA. One of such saint called as king of two worlds by great mystics saint Nand Mott, is “Saint of all Times”-Jagadguru Bhagawaan Gopinathji.
After Bhagawaanji had given up the gross body, his main disciples and devotees set up at Kharyaar, Srinagar, and an Ashram which was named after him. Some of his relics were enshrined there. These included a Pheran he had worn, a few of the cbillums he had smoked and the iron sighri, into which he offered oblations at his last residence at Chandapora, Srinagar. In 1973, a marble statue of his was installed at the Srinagar Ashram. A Trust known as the “Bhagawaan Gopinathji Trust” was set up to look after the Ashram and its activities. An evening aarti to Bhagawaan Ji was a regular activity at the Ashram. This Ashram became a centre of sorts for spiritual upliftment of devotees. Among its other activities were the following: Mahayajnya, Mahajayanti, Guru Purnima, Baal Divas, Hora Ashtami, Navratri , Zangtrai (Naari Divas)
After displacement from the valley another Ashrams came up at Udaiwala Road, Jammu, Pamposh Enclave, Greater Kailash-I, New Delhi, Vikas Puri, Pune, Banglore. Here all the activities that were regularly performed in Srinagar Ashram are followed, perhaps, with larger number of devotees participating in such activities, than at the Srinagar Ashram. Activities at this Ashram are performed according to a set Calendar, including daily Aarti, yearly festivities viz. Mahayajnya and Mahajayanti and devotional gatherings on Hora Ashtami, Navreh, Jap Homa etc.
During last few years the Trust has expanded the activities of all Ashrams as well as augmented and added to the infrastructure. Recently, the Jammu Ashram has been brought on Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Map.
